Its a multipurpose product which helps to remove old paint. INRAL Paint Remover is neutral and free from chlorinated solvents. It‘s thixotropic and can be applied on vertical surfaces. It can be used on most surfaces such as metal, wood and walls, with the exception of plastics and fiberglass (to be verified case by case).
Application areas:
Effective on the following types of paints:
- rust protection primer (solvent/water based) nitrocellulosic paints
- alkyd and oleosynthetic paints
- polyester paints
- polyurethane paints (not oven-cured) acrylic paints
- epoxy paints (not oven-cured)
- wall paints/primers/plasters
- stucco
- wood paints (not oven-cured)
- 2K paints (check case by case)
Shake the can thoroughly before use. Do not expose it to heat sources. Carefully read the safety instructions. Apply the product from a distance of 15-20 cm on the surface to be stripped, evenly and abundantly. Wait until the paint film is completely softened or swollen, then remove with a metal or wooden spatula. Any paint residues may be removed by further localized application.
The paint stripping time can vary from a few minutes for 1K paints (eg: nitrocellulosic, synthetic, anti rust, etc.) up to a few hours for 2K (eg: polyurethane). A contact time of between 15 and 30 minutes is normally sufficient for wall primers/paints. The time of removal of the paint depends on its thickness.
It is advisable not to use the paint stripper on surfaces exposed to the sun or otherwise heated.
Softening times:
- 1K paints – 2-4 min.
- 2K paints – up to few h.
- Wall primers and paints – 15-30 min.
Store vertically at +10 °C…+25 °C temperature and relative air humidity of max. 60%.
Shelf life: 10 years if appropriate storage provided.
