How to Use This Waterproofing Coating
Follow the guidelines for use to achieve the best results:
- Proper surface preparation is crucial for effective waterproofing. The surface should be clean, smooth, dry and free of grease, mechanical damage and loose particles. If the surface is powder-coated, it should be slightly abraded and cleaned.
- Some more absorbent surfaces should be primed with FOME FLEX HYDROPROTECT Primer. Less absorbent, such as metal sheets and bitumen, should be primed with a 5:1 paint-to-water mixture. That guarantees the adhesion between surface and paint.
- Mix the product well before use, do not dilute it. Mix products from different batches before use.
- Apply the paint in at least two coats with a brush or roller. Apply the second coat only after the first one is completely dry, after approx. 2 hours.
- Final coat thickness should be at least 1 mm.
- Protect freshly painted surfaces from rain and direct sunlight until the coating is fully cured (min. 24 h). Low temperatures and lack of adequate air circulation prolong the drying time.
- After the work is done, clean the tools and uncured coating with FOME FLEX Profi Wipes, after curing – mechanically.
