A protective primer for aluminium is necessary because paint does not adhere well to aluminium directly, due to the natural oxide layer covering its surface. This primer creates an intermediate layer to which the paint adheres better. At the same time, INRAL ALU PRIMER protects the aluminium surface from oxidation. As a result, the paint is less likely to peel or crack, thereby extending its lifespan. Like other primers, this protective aluminium primer provides a uniform base, resulting in a more even and smoother finish.
The protective primer exhibits excellent adhesion to aluminium and light alloys. It is also suitable for use on iron and steel. It dries quickly.
The primer can be sanded and painted with acrylic, nitro, and synthetic enamel paints. It is ideal for industrial use, crafts, DIY projects, and bodywork repairs.
INRAL ALU PRIMER protective primer for aluminium is used before painting:
- aluminium profiles;
- window and door frames;
- aluminium sheet metal;
- bicycle frames;
- aluminium automotive parts;
- boats and other aluminium products.
Incompatibility: Do not use on surfaces with residues of products containing silicone.
Primer’s drying times:
- Dust free: 5 – 10 min.
- Touch dry: 20 min.
- Completely dry: 24 h.
Yield:
1,5 – 2 m2 (from one 400 ml. can, one layer).
Recommended 1-2 cross layers.
Gloss level:
Matt: <15 gloss at 60°.
